Addiction Affliction (Baybeats Edition)

by Club Mild

/

about

This track was one that we did in collaboration with Baybeats for their Baybeats Exclusive. We recorded with Leonard Soosay of Snakeweed Studios and had this song used for a music video produced by students from Laselle College of the Arts.

It is the first song we ever wrote while on an escape trip to a faraway place called Johor Bahru and was inspired by life-changing char siew, used as an allegory for all things carnally desirable.

lyrics

Stealing eyes
With your satin red dress
And your silhouette that we all recognise
Breaking hearts
You were different from all those I had before
Lingering on through the night

Temptation
Taught me never to defy what felt so true
Bitten once, never shy
Then I see
What I dreamt of was never good at all for me
Shouldn’t have crossed the line

If I could have known you were going to be like this
I would have shown you the door
Baby damn it’s hard I’d surely testify
Changing sides
‘Cos I know your sympathy for guys like me
Is always short in supply

Temptation
Taught me never to defy what felt so true
Bitten once, never shy
Then I see
What I dreamt of was never good at all for me
Shouldn’t have crossed the line
